Neurodegenerative Disease Research announced joint transnational call for Jan 2015

The EU Joint Programme – Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND) has announced that it will launch a joint transnational call for proposals in January 2015. This will be the first cooperative call with Horizon 2020. It is designed to address the global threat of neurodegenerative diseases.

The call aims at supporting a limited number of ambitious, high-level, innovative and multi-disciplinary transnational research collaborations in three JPND priority areas:

·         Longitudinal Cohorts

·         Advanced Experimental Models

·         Risk and Protective Factors

More than euro 30 million will be made available by JPND member countries, with the European Commission "topping up" this amount by up to 30%.

The call will be carried out in two steps, the first to be launched in early January 2015 with pre-proposals to be submitted by March 2015.

The indicative titles of the call topics are "Genetic, epigenetic and environmental risk and protective factors of neurodegenerative diseases", "Longitudinal cohorts in neurodegenerative disease research", and "Advanced experimental models of neurodegenerative diseases".
