EuropaBio launches the most innovative European Biotech SME Award 2011 - apply before 26th of August!
EuropaBio's Most Innovative Biotech SME Award aims to reward European Biotech SMEs that have developed an innovative solution to technical, social and environmental problems. The aim of the prize is to promote and support outstanding and innovative ideas of biotechnology in small and medium enterprises across European countries.
The award will be presented at the EuropaBio Biotechnology for Innovation event, taking place on Tuesday, 8th November 2011 in Brussels. This event will be a showcase for the benefits of biotechnology for innovation in Europe. It will be opened by Steve Burill, Founder and CEO of Burill & Company, and will be attended by industry representatives, the media and high ranking EU officials.

Criteria for the award
The main criteria for applying are that the company applying must qualify as an SME under the standard EU SME definition and it should be based in one of the European member states. The innovative idea or products must solve and tackle some of society’s biggest environmental, technical or social challenges for the future. Applicants must also explain their business strategy for the upcoming 24 months, including how to overcome challenges in raising capital.
