FP7 Partnering event successfully organised ; photo gallery now available!

Dedicated to consortium building, the FP7 Health Partnering event co-organised by the Fit for Health and Health-NCP-Net projects took place successfully on 10 June 2011 in Brussels.
The Partnering Event co-organised by Fit for health and the Health NCP-Net gathered 245 participants in Brussels.
A surrounding programme provided information on what makes a good consortium and gave researchers, SME and academia interested in SME-targeted topics and those from countries outside Europe, a platform to present their project ideas in 5-minute presentations.
During the plenary session, Mr Thierry Laurent from Coris Bioconcept (Belgium), as one of the KAPPA-Health awarded companies gave his testimony as an experienced SME researcher to the conditions that prevails in establishing a good consortium . The second speaker , Dr. Urszula Wyrzykowska from the International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, Warsaw, Poland , gave her experience on elements that guide projects from basic research to innovations; highlighting the point of view of an Academic researcher. A panel session focussing on collaboration between SMEs and academia in FP research projects took place after the presentations.
It was also the opportunity to present SMEs projects and initiatives adressing Call 2012 topics on SMEs targeted topics (including most clinical research topics) and on topics for which international cooperation is requested. Presentations by SMEs and 3rd Country researchers which have identified specific call topics/areas where their expertise fits in these topics will be available on the FFh website.
During the KAPPA-Health award ceremony, five research-intensive SMEs were awarded for their successful participation in an FP6/FP7 EU co-funded research project: Coris BioConcept (BE), Molecular Machines & Industries (CH), Genewave, BIA Sepations (SL) and Cézanne (FR).

The main part of the day was dedicated to bilateral meetings between persons interested in the same call area. 345 bilateral meetings were organised between researchers, SMEs and stakeholders that were interested to present a research project application for the next Health 2012 Call .
