European IPR Helpdesk: Training catalogue now online

Date: 03/08/2011

The European IPR Helpdesk recently published its training catalogue, which is now available for download in the training section on www.iprhelpdesk.eu/training.

As a service initiative of the European Commission the European IPR Helpdesk provides free of charge advice and information on Intellectual Property (IP) and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) to (potential) beneficiaries of EU funded projects. The management of IP and IPR becomes increasingly important for the successful participation in the FP7 programme. Therefore, the overall goal of the initiative’s training activities is “capacity building” and to enable European researchers and SMEs to develop their own IP strategies and processes.

It is in this context that the catalogue provides specific training packages tailored to the needs and requirements of researchers and SMEs interested or already participating in FP7 projects. In the first place, the European IPR Helpdesk aims at organising workshops on a larger scale in cooperation with key multipliers and intermediaries such as the Fit for Health network, the National Contact Points for FP7 or members of the Enterprise Europe Network to ensure a broader reach of their training activities. Apart from this, the team is also eager to meet as many training requests from individual institutions like universities, SMEs or FP7/CIP projects as possible.

Training courses are delivered in two ways: on-location or web-based. Please also check the calendar of upcoming webinars on www.iprhelpdesk.eu/events. You can join these virtual seminars comfortably from your own computer – from your office or home. Those webinars are especially intended for individual researchers and SMEs. In the near future web-based training sessions on IP rules and aspects in EU funded research programmes are envisaged and will also be announced in the above mentioned calendar.
