Information Day on Support for Policy Development to be held in Brussels on 19 September 2005
In July 2005 a call for proposals was launched in the framework of the Life Sciences, Genomics and Biotechnology for Health –SUB- PRIORITY 3.6 “Supporting policy development“ of the 6th RTD Framework Programme.
An Information Day, organised by DG RTD F1, is going to take place on 19 September 2005 to present the views of various stakeholder groups and – based on that – to launch an intensive discussion with all other participants. The introduction to the event will be given by the services of the European Commission

Cost-planning-workshop for FP6 research projects taking place in Vienna on 22 September 2005
On September 22nd in the afternoon a cost-planning-workshop for FP6 research project proposers will take place at FFG in Vienna.
A workshop on cost-planning for FP6 research projects especially addresses researchers and companies planning to submit a project proposal in TP1 “Life Sciences, Genomics and Biotechnology for health“, with deadline 9th November 2005, and in TP5 “Food quality and safety“, with deadline 5th October 2005.

Bioforum expo-conference on biotechnologies to be held in Milan, between 28 and 29 September 2005
Bioforum, the expo-conference on biotechnologies, will be held in Milan, on 28 and 29 September 2005. As national and international meeting point for various science and business topics. Drug discovery, new medicines and vaccines, nanotechnologies and biomedicine will be dealt within different sessions (in English and Italian). Furthermore, problems and perspectives for funding biotech start-ups are an important issue of the conference.

Life Science Conference, transnational training and matchmaking in FP6 to be organised in Bratislava, between 6 and 7 October 2005
Between October 6th and 7th, 2005 a Life Science Conference, transnational training and matchmaking session in FP6 will be organised by SARC, Centre for Advancement, Science and Technology in Bratislava, Slovakia. With support of “SMEs go LifeSciences” important issues on successful project proposal writing, financial aspects, budget planning and IPR in FP6 will be dealt with.

Very well received Virtual Match Making (VMM) event organised by “SMEs go LifeSciences” during the last week of June 2005
"SMEs go LifeSciences” organised a very well received Virtual matchmaking (VMM) event between June 27th and July 1st, 2005.
Numerous matches between researchers and SMEs were successful. 127 new profiles were entered in June 2005, 72 in July 2005 and 52 in August 2005, as a result of this intensive effort to match interests of SMEs and researchers for the next FP6 4th call in Thematic priority 1.
