FP7 Health Partnering event organised by "Fit for Health" and "Health-NCP-Net"
Shortly before the official publication of the 6th Health call, the EC organised an Open Information Day in order to convey first-hand information on the novelties in the planning of the new Work Programme to researchers from SMEs and academia (For more information on this event, please visit http://ec.europa.eu/research/health/events-05_en.html).
This event took place on 9 June 2011 in Brussels. The following day (10 June), the projects "Fit for Health" and "Health-NCP-Net" jointly organised an FP7 Partnering event.
This Partnering event was dedicated to consortium building. The main part of the day was dedicated to bilateral meetings between persons interested in the same call area. A surrounding programme provided information on what makes a good consortium and gave researchers from SME and academia interested in SME-targeted topics and those from countries outside Europe a platform to present their project ideas in 5-minute presentations.
Bilateral meetings have been arranged automatically by a sophisticated, user-friendly match-making tool following indication of interests in specific call areas by participants. Additionally to bilateral meetings among potential project partners, participants had the option to meet with representatives of support initiatives (such as the KAPPA-Health and Access4EU projects) and members of the organising projects for personalised support and information.
At 12h00, the KAPPA-Health Award and cocktail ceremony took place to award SMEs for their successful participation in an FP6/FP7 co-funded research project.
This award concludes the three years inquiry conducted by KAPPA-Health among a sample of healthcare research-intensive SMEs involved in Health programme FP6 and FP7 projects.
